I have to say, I’m pretty excited about these bold lipsticks from Beautycounter. When I was in high school and living under my parents’ roof, most of my makeup was from my mom. She’d go to the department store cosmetics department whenever they were having a special and get the things she needed. She’d get the free gift with purchase and –after taking what she needed– would give the rest of the beauty loot to me. I loved this! It gave me the opportunity to try lots of products for absolutely nothing. However, I did notice that I seemed to have an aversion to the sweet smelling lipsticks. Many of them had smells that by all accounts should have been great but I found that they’d give me headaches. Of course, I’ve learned a lot about the harmful ingredients hidden in many lipsticks today. I’m always looking for a good lipstick. So here’s my honest review of Beautycounter’s Color Intense Lipstick.
The Deal with Beautycounter
If you’ve read any of my posts, you know that I love Beautycounter. I was trying to get healthier and I was reading a blog when I first learned about Beautycounter. I immediately checked the EWG Skin Deep Database to see just how clean their products were. I was surprised to find they had such stellar marks. It’s been years since I started using cleaner products. I’ve been learning a lot along the way. I’ve learned that products with the ingredient “fragrance” often contain endocrine disruptors called phthalates. Those phthalates have been linked to diabetes, obesity, liver and breast cancer. So maybe my nose was telling me that something in my lipstick hadn’t been right. I use Beautycounter because of they will always be honest about the ingredients in their products and they have a list of ingredients that will never Wbe in any of their products.

Beautycounter Lipstick
You may have heard some good things about Beautycounter’s lipstick. Allure did a review of Beautycounter Lipstick in Twig. It was an Allure Best of Beauty Winner back in 2014. Sheer, subtle and scented with real vanilla, it was an obvious winner. It is my understanding that Twig was a sheer lipstick. The new lipstick line introduced by Beautycounter is ultra pigmented. It is, in a word, intense. It is Beautycounter’s first long-wearing, one-swipe lipstick. It comes in eight gorgeous shades of rich color scented with natural peppermint oil.
Color Intense Lipstick Colors
Beautycounter Color Intense Lipstick comes in eight shades. Backstage is a beige pink. Brunch is a tawny pink. First Date is a rosy pink. Garden Party is a bright pink. Little Black Dress is a neutral berry. 9 to 5 is a luminous mauve. Twilight is a bright berry color. And Girls’ Night is a classic red hue.

My Beautycounter Color Intense Lipstick Review
For my first go, I tried the Color Intense Lipstick in Brunch. Beautycounter describes it as a tawny pink. I love that this color looks like one you could wear everyday. It is a very natural-looking color. One of the first things I noticed was how pigmented the color is. Unlike Beautycounter’s sheer lipstick, this color goes on strong. It feels thick and creamy. I love the smell. The peppermint oil has a cooling effect on the lips and smells fresh. Peppermint oil is used in aromatherapy and is commonly used to relieve stress and improve memory. So, that’s a bonus! I love this lipstick.
Wear Test
This lipstick kept my lips feeling moist and didn’t dry them out. I did lose a bit of color in the middle of my lips after eating but the color seemed to remain on most of the surface of my lips.
Final Thoughts on Beautycounter Color Intense Lipstick
Overall, I am very impressed with this lipstick. True to Beautycounter’s mission, these products are not only safe, but they also perform well. This lipstick feels luxe. I highly recommend it. I thought it was a little pricey but actually the price is very good considering all the things that they’ve taken out. It’s safer. That’s worth the cost.

I also like to look on eBay. Sometimes there are some really good deals on BC products.
